| Small Faces (Decca, 1966) | |
| Note: | First LP, it comprises some of the singles previously issued plus some great nasty R&B stuff. One of the latest remasterings (Deram, 1997) includes a five-song French EP with even better versions of “Shake”, “Come on children”, “What’cha gonna do about it?” (absolutely check this one out!) “ Own up time”, “E too D” |
| Small Faces (Immediate, 1967) | |
| Note: | This is the second LP, self titled as the first. The Castle CD 1997 reissue combines it with the U.S. release, called "There are but four Small Faces" (Immediate 1968) which removes seven tracks: "Something I want to tell you", "Feeling lonely", "Happy boys happy", "Things are going to get better", "Become like you", "All our yesterdays" and "Eddie's dreaming", in favour of the latest singles, "Here comes the nice", "Itchycoo park", "I'm only dreaming", "Tin Soldier" and "I feel much better". On September 2002 Castle released a 35th anniversary edition, it is double and features only three completely unreleased songs, the alt. versions of "Have you ever seen me", "Things are going to get better" and "Green Circles", the rest being previously available elsewhere (see "Darlings..."). |
| From The Beginning (Decca, 1967) | |
| Note: | Not an album at all, but a collection of many unissued songs, released when Small Faces signed to Immediate. But what a collection! On the 1997 Decca re-release there are two French E.P. versions of “My mind’s eye” and “Hey Girl” and different versions of “Take this hurt off me” and “Baby don’t you do it”, as well as a BBC “What’cha gonna do about it”. A London 1989 re-release includes the B sides of many singles already available but reprinted on this LP. |
| Ogden's Nut Gone Flake (Immediate, 1968) | |
| Note: |
Nothing to say about it, here we find some of the greatest music ever to come out off the sixties. Originally released in a circular sleeve, but reprinted many times in a regular shape. Some CD reissue claims to include a “Tin Soldier” live version, but it is actually the studio cut in stereo. |
| The Autumn Stone (Immediate, 1969) | |
| Note: |
A collection of Immediate records, mainly, but with some Decca single. There are five unreleased studio songs from the last sessions, plus five live tracks, again from the final period. Castle reissued it in 1997. |
| The Decca Anthology 1965-1967 (Deram, 1996) 2 CD | |
| Note: |
Yes, that is exactly what the title reads. This double CD includes everything released by Small Faces during their early Decca days, the first two LPs, all the singles A’s and B’s, a 1963 Steve Marriott single and a 1967 Jimmy Winston and his Reflections single. The only way to get the whole early Small Faces stuff, nowadays. The US version includes “I can’t make it”, which is missing from the UK release, but omits the solo singles. |
| The Darlings of Wapping Wharf Launderette (Sequel, Castle 1999) 2 CD | |
| Note: |
The ultimate Immediate era Small Faces anthology, everything released from the Immediate days within the exception of the live tracks contained on “The Autumn Stone” but lots of unreleased stuff here, even a single recorded with P.P. Arnold! There are some defaults, but this is definitely the best collection to be released, mainly because it is cheap and you can find it, no need to order a 4 CD set with lots of useless different mixes. |
